Welcome to the website of the Embassy of Viet Nam in Denmark!
I am honour to officially begin my tenure as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to the Kingdom of Denmark on June 17, 2025.
To me and to many Vietnamese people, Denmark is a truly special country. It is the enchanting land of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales, one of the world's most livable countries, a global pioneer in green transition, sustainable development and innovation, together with the uniquely warm spirit of "Hygge".
Viet Nam, in turn, is a beautiful and friendly country in Southeast Asia, home to around 100 million people, boasting a rich and distinctive culture shaped by over 4,000 years of history, currently an attractive travel destination renowned for its numerous tangible and intangible cultural heritages recognized by UNESCO. Viet Nam has emerged as one of Asia's most dynamic and rapidly growing economies, ranked among the world's top 40 largest economies, signed and implemented 17 Free Trade Agreements with over 60 partners across continents. Viet Nam has been embarking into a new era of development, driven by innovation, energized by acceleration, aiming at strategic breakthroughs towards prosperous and sustainable future.
Since the two countries established diplomatic relations in November 1971, the friendly and cooperation relation between Viet Nam and Denmark has gone substantively from strength to strength. It is grounded in mutual trust, shared strategic vision and common goals in sustainable, inclusive, and people-centered development. The two countries have effectively implemented strategic cooperation frameworks, including: the Strategic Partnership on Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Green Growth (2011), the Comprehensive Partnership (2013), and most recently, the Green Strategic Partnership (2023). Viet Nam and Denmark are approaching a significant milestone: the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2026. I am confident that our two countries continue to be sincere, reliable and effective partners on the journey toward greener and shared prosperity.
I also hold in high regard the Vietnamese community in Denmark, who have always dedicated to the homeland while actively integrated into Danish society and contributed to the Viet Nam – Denmark friendship and cooperation. The Embassy in Denmark will continue to accompany and support these extremely valuable efforts of the Vietnamese community in Denmark.
I hope this website will bring you closer to Viet Nam - to our land, our people, our culture - and to the growing friendship cooperation between Viet Nam and Denmark. Here you will also find information on the Embassy's activities, consular services and citizen protection, community events.
