I. Visa exemption
The visa exemption will be applicable to nationals of 13 countries (including the Kingdom of Denmark) who stay in Viet Nam for maximum 45 days from the date of entry, no matter what visa types they currently hold or their purposes of entry, with adequate eligibility criteria in accordance with Vietnamese laws.
II. E-visa
An electronic visa (E-visa) is one of the visa types issued to foreigners by the Vietnamese Immigration Department via an electronic system. Viet Nam E-visa is valid for maximum of 90 days, single or multiple entry.

III. Other visa application
If foreigners are not eligible for visa exemption as mentioned in Section I or for e-visa as mentioned in Section II, please follow the following procedures:
1. For foreigners who have obtained visa approval from the Vietnamese Immigration Department
In case you have obtained visa approval from the Vietnamese Immigration Department, you can apply for a visa at the Embassy. Required documents are mentioned in point 3 below.
2. For foreigners who do not have visa approval from the Vietnamese Immigration Department
Foreigners must follow the procedures at the immigration authority via the inviting entities. The inviting entity shall directly submit the application for the visa to the immigration authority. After receiving the written response from the immigration authority, the inviting entity shall notify the foreigner to follow the procedures for receiving the visa at the Embassy.
3. Required documents to apply in person at the Embassy of Viet Nam

- 01 photo (4x6cm)
- Valid passport
For Vietnamese holding a Travel Document or Alien Passport, you can apply for a Visa Exemption Certificate (click here), also known as "Viet Nam 5-year visa"
- An approval letter issued by the Immigration Department of Viet Nam
- In case the applicant wishes to receive the visa by mail, please prepare a prepaid self-addressed return envelope. It is recommended to take a photo of the tracking number to check the delivery status of the mail. The Embassy is not responsible for lost envelopes and documents due to your use of unsecured postal services. The applicant may pay a postage fee if you do not include a prepaid envelope.

* Note:
- The Embassy only processes visa applications for holders of national passports with approval letters issued by the Immigration Department of Viet Nam.
- Upon receiving your visa issued by the Embassy, kindly double-check all personal information printed on your visa. In case of inaccurate personal information, please contact the Embassy immediately for correction or adjustments (fees may be applied for amendments of visas due to applicants' inadvertent errors).
- The Embassy reserves the right to request further information and documentation from applicants and to deny approval for any visa application without necessarily providing an explanation for visa denial.
